KinKi Kids World is for all English-speaking KinKi Kids fans who, despite the language barrier, have found themselves falling in love with KinKi Kids and their music, this is my humble attempt to bring us all closer to the world of KinKi Kids - Domoto Tsuyoshi 堂本刚 (244) and Domoto Koichi 堂本光一(51).
The contents of this blog are based primarily on contents found in other Chinese blogs, as I have only just started learning Japanese (which is とても むずがしです i.e. very difficult). I wish to thank all the Chinese Kinki Kids fans for their hard work and efforts in translating the Japanese materials/information on the KinKi Kids.

KinKi Kids proved themselves to be still very good dancers, by re-performing at 2008 KinKi you concert their very first "own" KinKi Kids' song - Tayori ni shitemasen, including the very energetic dance routine.
Everybody knows that Koichi is a very good dancer, and I fully agree with that. However, I once saw a backstage video clip of KinKi Kids when they were juniors and they were asked by SMAP to show the dance moves for Tayori ni shitemasen. I recall thinking then that Tsuyoshi was surprisingly actually dancing better and more in time than Koichi. So why is Koichi now perceived to be the better dancer? I guess it's probably that Tsuyoshi is just not that interested in dancing whilst Koichi really put in a lot of hard work to perfect his dance moves. I've read from other fans' blogs that Koichi used to spend a lot of time on his own practising his dancing when he was a junior. Anyway, I must say Tsuyoshi's dance moves in the 2008 KinKi you concert for Tayori ni shitemasen are really good, and as for Koichi, he's in a league of his own with his "baka" dance version! :P

KinKi you concert DVD (Limited Edition) is no. 2 on the Oricon Daily Ranking Chart for DVD for the 1st day sales. The no. 1 is the DVD of the Korean group - 東方神起. Haiz......such a pity. I thought since the limited edition was out of stock so quickly on the online purchase sites as well as in the Japanese music stores on the 1st day, KinKi you DVD should be no. 1. Well, never mind, ranking does not determine the merits! I am still looking forward to my DVD! Please please come soon!
Wow! I'm not sure how this person managed to get hold of the KinKi you DVD so early. I thought the release date is 30 Sep??? I got this photo from Yahoo Japan auction. This should be the limited edition. I can't wait to get hold of my DVD!!!

Having surfed the blogs of other KK fans, everybody has already broadcasted their birthday wishes to Tsuyoshi early in the day. And I have instead left it towards the end of the day. =.= Partly cuz I only woke up at about 4 pm this afternoon! Yes, please don't be shocked. I have the talent of sleeping long hours. But partly it's cuz I fell ill yesterday evening with fever and diarrhea, but I'm fine now. And I was thinking what I wanted to do for Tsuyoshi since it's the first birthday of his that I'm celebrating. So after surfing around and seeing all the wonderful things that other fans have done for him, I've decided I shall not be over-ambitious but shall instead just write him a simple letter to send him my well wishes. Of course it'll never reach his hands, and he won't understand it even if I do send it out cuz it's in English, but still, here it goes.
Dear Tsuyoshi
Happy 30th Birthday!
It's actually the first time I'm celebrating your birthday. Hmm...how did you first capture my attention? Well, it was sometime around mid of last year when I first saw the Phi concert kisses on Youtube! Fufufu! Yes, I have to admit it was your sensational kisses to Koichi that captured my fancy! LOL!
However, seriously speaking, if it was simply that, my fascination wouldn't have lasted long. I mean, other artistes have done even more sensational and erotic things on stage, and I don't see myself even bothering to bat an eye. So what kept me on wanting to know more and more about you (and of course Koichi) and falling more and more in love with you (and of course Koichi too)? [Side whisper: Tsuyoshi, I hope you understand that I have to mention Koichi now and then in case he thinks I'm sending a love letter to you and starts laser-eyeing me.]
On my road of discovery of KinKi Kids, I fell in love with the music of KinKi Kids - Harmony of December, Anniversary, Seppaku no tsuki (雪白の月), The Edge of the Word, Bonnie Butterfly, Snapshot, eien ni (永遠に), On the Night of a Blackout, etc etc etc. I was amazed that the pop idol duo that I thought wouldn't be able to sing well actually could sing so beautifully. Especially you, Tsuyoshi. Hearing your voice now and comparing against the voice of your younger days, I know how much effort you have put into improving your vocal skills. And I started listening to your solo works, and I was even more impressed. You can compose music and write lyrics. I am a literature student and words impress me deeply. And I was and still am totally won over by your lyrical talents. Your lyrics are beautiful, deep and meaningful. And your most recent new releases again prove your musical and literature talents.
Then, it was your strong and wonderful character. Your desire to present the genuine you to the world, your desire to live out the true you, your courage to do that, your innocence that shines forth from your eyes, your smiles and laughter from simple joys, your gentleness and sensitivity to others, your courage to walk out from your depression. In a way, I am glad that I only know you now. I am impressed by those fans who have walked with you since your youth, through your depression, through your period of silence and daze, through your rebellious and angry days, through your lost period, through the period where you didn't even want to walk out from your house for fear of being hurt and also hurting others who love you, through the days frought with rumours of the breakup of KinKi Kids, etc. Those were very tough days and it must have been very painful for you. Likewise, for the people who love you, including the fans. I am one of those lucky fans who are enjoying the sweetness of knowing you, without having to go through the bitterness. But I know those fans don't regret it, because they know you know, they know you love them.
There is so much of you that I can't seem to put down into words. I guess someone who is not a fan reading this will probably think this is just another star-crazed silly fan. I wish I can express myself better and convey to those reading this how amazing a person you really are. You are not just a star, you are Tsuyoshi, a unique individual gifted with many talents but nurturing a very sensitive soul. Your sensitive soul makes you troubled often and entraps you many a times when a more rational person would not think much of the matter, but without your sensitive soul, you would also not be who you are.
So on this 30th birthday of yours, I am glad to see a triumphant Tsuyoshi who has walked out from his lost wandering days and has now found his old self back, and my wishes to you would be that your everyday would continue to bring you hope, joy and courage to live out everyday as your true self, and to be able to see your kawaii smile reflecting geniune happiness over and over again.

And to commemorate my first celebration of Tsuyoshi's birthday, let me indulge myself by reviewing the photos and video clips of the sensational Phi con kisses from Tsuyoshi to Koichi!!! [Side whisper from a stranger: Err......is this Tsuyoshi's birthday or your own birthday??? Me OS: Shhh!!! You're disturbing me!]
Kiss No. 1: Tsuyoshi kisses Koichi on the right cheek after Koichi complained about Nagase kissing him there at the Johnny's Countdown.
Kiss No. 2: Tsuyoshi applied a lot of the Lush lipcream (which was supposed to be the birthday present to Koichi) on his own lips, 'commanded' Koichi to close his eyes and then kissed him on the lips!!!
Kiss No. 3: Tsuyoshi was trying to pull Koichi up from the sponge cubes, and then Koichi pulled him down instead. Tsuyoshi then pushed Koichi flat down and fell on him and kissed him!!!
Kiss No. 4: Tsuyoshi tenderly kisses Koichi on his forehead.
Kiss No. 5: Koichi said that his right cheek has been kissed by Nagase, his mouth and forehead by Tsuyoshi, and his left cheek is still unkissed. Tsuyoshi pretended to ignore him and then pounced on him to claim his left cheek as well!!!
Kiss No. 6: Koichi kisses Tsuyoshi back! Finally! YEAH!!!
Harmony of December: And finally, the so very beautiful and romantic love song they sang to each other at the Phi concert.
When singing Maketara Akan, KinKi Kids and 2 of the MA were dancing to the song. Looking at the 2 of them dancing, you wouldn't think that Koichi and Tsuyoshi were dancing the same steps...... Koichi was dancing so vigorously with exaggerated dance steps whilst Tsuyoshi was...well...erhem....just doing the bare minimum to complete the dance steps?! These two! LOL!
In fact, Koichi danced so vigorously until he had to bend down to catch his breath! Of course, we all know he's just clowning away. If he can do Endless Shock, this is nothing to him.
And Tsuyoshi saved the best for the last. He ended the dance with a triple spin! Wow! You can hear the fans scream! I can imagine that must be tough to perform. Below is Tsuyoshi in the midst of his triple spin.
And both KK ended the dance with a serenade pose to each other! すごい(sugoi)!

The ML was all on Tsuyoshi during this song performance. KK fans will all know Tsuyoshi has a fear of heights. Tsuyoshi was on a elevated sliding platform and with one hand holding the mic as he sang, his other hand would be holding on to the pole in the middle of the platform for his dear life.
However, he would often lean his back against the pole, so that he can release his hand to wave at the fans and he even did one flying kiss! You know he is afraid; you can see from the video how he clings to the pole. I really love Tsuyoshi for his courage and his love for his fans.
As I look at the photo below of Tsuyoshi against the backdrop of the fans, I am suddenly so touched. Somehow, I know that Koichi and Tsuyoshi often push themselves too hard to make the fans happy. To all the KK fans out there, please continue to carry on loving the KinKi Kids. KinKi Kidsにつずけて愛してください！
There was a competition held amongst the concert performers and staff to see whose drawing of Koichi was the best. This was supposed to be part of the present for Koichi's 30th birthday! Lol! So Koichi decided he also wanted to try drawing himself. Whilst Koichi was doing so, Tsuyoshi said he wanted to write something for Koichi.
This is Tsuyoshi whilst he was writing the note. So kawaii!♡
And the note Tsuyoshi wrote for Koichi is: いつまでも愛してる (Itsu made mo aishiteru) which means: I will always love you ♡♡♡
It seems like there has been quite a fair bit of excitement stirred by the argument over whether the birthday kiss was real or not. Well, having seen the photos on other fans' blogs, I have to say that it is quite clear that Tsuyoshi was kissing on his hand placed on Koichi's right side of the face. I must say, the ML photographers have really hi-tech cameras!
Disappointing though it may be for me to a certain extent, it seems like there are some fans out there that are getting quite upset over the fact that the birthday kiss was not real. Whilst I am a KKL at heart, I am definitely also a KKF. What it means is that I will always support and love these 2, whether or not they are really together (in that sense), though of cuz if they are together, that will be heavenly!!! :P
What I do believe in is their good intentions behind this kiss. I'm sure they know about the KKL element of the fans' adoration of KinKi Kids, and the birthday kiss is surely for the fans. More importantly, they looked like they had lots of fun in the process. I hope that we can all carry these happy memories to start off 2009 and not taint them with unhappy arguements about this and that. If we are truly their fans and love them, then we should trust in their integrity and believe in them.
My last note on this topic will be to leave you with this photo of Tsuyoshi in between his "kisses". I have to confess that I have "stolen" this photo from another blog (click here to see that blog) but I couldn't resist pasting this photo to share with everybody. I so love the tender look on Tsuyoshi's face as he looks down at Koichi. And I can practically imagine Koichi's laughter ringing merrily away!
I read from con repo that Tsuyoshi had to drag Koichi by his collar onto the circular strawberry cake stage, as they were all ready to celebrate Koichi's birthday and Koichi was squatting down examining the humidifier instead! LOL!

It's a bit blur but from the 3rd picture, Koichi was squatting down with his back facing the audience and his red jacket pulled over his head. He was pretending to be a strawberry on the cake!!! I must say, Koichi would be the most oishii strawberry!
I understand that Tsuyoshi drew the "cake" himself ! Apparently, Koichi was very amazed and asked Tsuyoshi that he did all these just to show for a few minutes. Sigh...this is love!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! The ML photos of the birthday kiss are out! I wan I wan I wan I wan......
I read from the con reports that it was already towards the end of the KinKi you concert and everybody sort of gave up hope of any kissing happening. Tsuyoshi and Koichi were walking towards each other when Tsuyoshi suddenly tackled Koichi!
After tackling Koichi to the ground, Tsuyoshi then crawled over Koichi's body, sat on him and used his hands to hold down Koichi's face to kiss him!!! OMG!!! I can imagine all the screaming and shrieking taking place in the Osaka Dome then. And look at how wildly Koichi was flinging his legs as he struggled to get Tsuyoshi off him! LOL!
Finally, Tsuyoshi got up, wiped his lips with the back of his hand, said "Ouishi" and did his victory stance! Kawaiiiii desu ne!!!
We all know that Tsuyoshi gave 30 red roses to Koichi as his 30th birthday present at the 2008-2009 Johnny's Countdown / KinKi you concert at the start of 1 Jan 2009. The choice of 30 roses was obviously meant to tie in with the age of Koichi. However, out of pure curiosity, I checked the internet for the meaning of 30 roses and came across this answer on the Chinese websites: -
30朵玫瑰象征—— 信是有缘！ 30 roses symbolises destiny. A full translation would be - "I believe we are fated".
I recall an episode in Domoto Brothers where Koichi said something like when he first met Tsuyoshi, he felt that they were fated to be together. Tsuyoshi unfortunately spoilt the whole ambience by saying that he thought Koichi's surname was Tanaka!!! Well, strangely enough, the meaning of 30 roses echoes Koichi's then very words.
